International students come to study at Nelson College from all around the world. We have excellent English language courses and offer you an exciting opportunity to study in a progressive boys’ school. Nelson College offers a full orientation programme, guidance and pastoral care. We offer many courses with a strong academic focus as well as arts, drama, sport, music and cultural co-curricular activities. Lastly, we have an Outdoor Education programme that utilises the three National Parks that surround our beautiful region.
International students have the choice of living in one of two boarding houses at the College or living with a New Zealand family in an International Homestay.
New Zealand is a unique country with magnificent scenery, friendly people and a safe environment. Nelson is situated at the top of New Zealand’s South Island and has a population of 80,000. The region has a mild sunny climate and easy access to beautiful beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers and National Parks for recreation. From Nelson’s busy regional airport there are daily direct flights to the international airports at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Nelson’s lively city centre is within walking distance of the College and offers all the amenities you would expect in a modern city.
